Research of a land, it's culture, beliefs, beauty and language

I am watching a PBS special that talks about the history of India. It's called The Story of India and was released in 2007. As I am watching this, I feel the excitement as I see places and people and things that I would love to photograph and document. I love how there is so much that is new and growing in this amazing and flourishing country and yet how much ancient history is still there for us to see. You can read more about this special here: http://www.pbs.org/thestoryofindia/

I want to learn as much as I can, even the language. I want to provide the proper respect to the culture. If anyone has any do's and don'ts for me to know, please post a comment and let me know about them. I want to know and I want to pass on what I learn to others who travel around India as well. I think it is only right to be respectful in another country just as we would want others to do so here. It starts with one.

I want to make the most of this one year and enjoy every minute in writing and in capturing it all.

I'm learning of so many places I want to visit, photograph and enjoy. I feel like a kid again as I think about all I will get to see, learn and explore.

My Test Blog

First let me quickly ask, please vote on my photo, there are only a couple days left. Send out a tweet that says something about voting for the photo and make sure the tweet has  http://hpstm.tc/3wy8 and #hipstamatic in it. Thanks in advance! Now back to our regular programming. (BLOG-MA, for those of you that missed out on that lil pun, think TV-MA)

So I'm setting up my blog to prepare for the fantastic things I will write about . I want to make sure everything is ready for everyone to read with ease and smiles. This blog is not for the squeamish, prudish, or the censoring types. There will be photos of my travels, talk of food, fun and all the great things of traveling. I love sarcasm and there will be lots of it so prepare yourself. Sit back, relax and come along on an amazing journey to the wonderful beauties and fun that India has to offer. No this is not a Disney story nor a commercial/ad for "Travel India". Though if someone out there would like to hire me for those types of places, let me know, just click to email me. That would be under the tab, "contact". Thanks sweetcheeks!

I'm a photographer, designer, jewelry creator and I love being involved in so many other arts. Now that I've said that last part about "other arts", let me say to some of you, DON'T even go there. :) The legal arts and let's leave it at that. Capice?

The first couple of months are going to be about my preparation for my trip and how that all goes. So get ready for laughs and a few rants too.

This blog design was found at http://btemplates.com/2011/blogger-template-park-lovers/. The artist and creator is amazing and has some wonderful work. You can find more designs of theirs here,  http://buymythemes.com/ (I think). Still sketchy on the right link to post.

The image below is the image I plan to use for my blog. It is designed by an amazing illustrator. You can see more of the illustrations here, http://www.istockphoto.com/search/lightbox/4899437/#1151c87c, and download them too if you would like.
