You've GOT to be kidding me??!!

So I wake this morning to find out some not so fantastic news. First, let me start at the beginning. When one travels and lives in a place like India, you want to see India, learn about the culture, experience everything great that it has to offer. This includes, seeing places, you would not and could not normally see while in the U.S., not easily or as affordably anyway. We're here, flights to certain places are cheap compared to waiting and flying from the U.S. just to go to a place. The place I am concerned with is one of the places we was excited to see most. It was going to be the place of relaxation, being out in the ocean and secluded and enjoying the aquatic life and beauty that was bestowed on this place. The place I am talking about is The Maldives. It is, by far, probably one of the most beautiful island destinations in the world, with the wonderful food and little touches that India knows so well how to offer. Also, by waiting until after peak season, it would have been cheaper. Now, I'm not saying we won't get to go, but at this point, there is NO way we're going.

Apparently, there was a coup to remove the President from office (at gunpoint). Everything started a few days ago, but I just found out this morning. We were both upset to hear about it because it was one of our top choices to travel to together. It was going to be the honeymoon we never really got to have. Right now, there seems to be quite a bit of chaos and violence at the capitol, which is, being that it's a small area (nothing like the size of India of course), the only place to fly into if you want to go to any of the hotels or resorts further out. So needless to say, this is now, out of the question. It was going to be our destination for April. Hopefully, things will calm down there enough to finally travel there. For now, I'm looking at alternatives places to go in April. There are still numerous places to see and Malaysia and Bhutan (even though this one is not on the ocean) are on that list. The place in Bhutan is just miraculously beautiful and overlooks the mountains. I'll post links below to you can all check them out. I'll also post a link to the info about the Maldives.

Please do not worry. This is not close to where I am nor is it at such a heightened problem that it can't be resolved. All will be well. When a place like that is a money maker, it doesn't stay in chaos too long. It's interesting how money can create chaos and at the same time, force it to become calm again, else, no money comes in.

The architecture of this building is astounding! I would absolutely love to be able to capturing this with my camera, including the inside of the building and the mountain view as well.

That's it for today. Now that this blog site is uploading images again, I will update the previous post by adding some images and I will upload the Diwali photos today. Stay tuned!

P.S. On one other note and please remember I said this blog would not be PG or PG-13 at that. We also found out that the US$ is stronger now and we found out because in our contract with IBM, it stipulates that in the event the US$ get stronger, they will adjust how much we are given for expenses. It's a lot of math and mumbo jumbo that I'll spare you all. Basically, a good chunk of moolah was taken out of our budget. Thank you IBM. Gotta love cheap bastards! (that's sarcasm, with a smile). Kiddies, if you want a job when you grow up that makes you lots of money because companies have to pay you enough to care, and you can be pretty soulless, then becoming a financial officer of a major corporation is the place for you.

Everyone have a great night over there! Love ya and write more soon! :)
